Mary Marie Copeland quietly went home with God on February 21, 2018. She was the fourth of seven children born to the late Blanche Rebecca and Raymond David Copeland of Gaithersburg, Maryland. She was born on November 4, 1938.

Mary attended the Montgomery County Public Schools. She graduated in 1956 from Carver High School, which is now the Montgomery County Board of Education, in Rockville, Maryland.

She was employed at Melwood Farm in Gaithersburg, Maryland for 35 years. She later went on to work at Glass Mental Health Home in Ellicott City, Maryland for two years, then retired from Giant Foods of Frederick, Maryland in December 2010.

Her interest included family, gardening, cooking and baking her infamous pound cakes and chocolate chip cookies. Mary was a big Baltimore Orioles fan as well as a lover of the Green Bay Packers.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Michelle and son, Darryl (Heather); two grandchildren, Alexandra and Tyler Copeland; one sister, Bernice Hall (Ronnie) and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives and friends. Preceding Mary in death was one sister, Elizabeth Copeland and four brothers, Tom Claggett, Lawrence, Charles and Arthur Copeland.
